With 2025 national signing day just around the corner, we now shift our focus to the 2026 recruiting cycle.
Currently, Miami has three verbal commitments to the 2026 class, including QB Dereon Coleman, CB Camdin Portis and LB Jordan Campbell. The class ranks #25 nationally, #6 in the ACC, with a quality rating of 91.36, according to the 247Sports Composite.
We recent asked ourselves who are the MOST realistic signees to the Canes’ class. It might surprise a few folks.
In no particular order of commitment or the most wanted prospects, we present our 10 most realistic prospects.
QB Dereon Coleman
Dereon has been solid in his commitment and his performances in camps has been elite.
RB Derrek Cooper
Dereck has been a longtime target that has visited campus on numerous occasions. He’s got orange blood in his veins despite taking visits to other schools.
RB Javian Mallory
Miami wants Javian bday to pair with Cooper. From all reports, he is leasing heavily to the Canes.
WR Calvin Russell
Like Cooper, Calvin is a top target on Miami’s board and a longtime fan of the Canes.
TE Israel Briggs
Israel has shot up Miami’s board. The staff believes e can be a dangerous threat in the Canes passing attack.
OL Breck Kolojay
Another quick riser, Breck has the size and athleticism to man the outside or inside on Miami’s future offensive line. He has been seen on campus multiple times already in the process.
OL Grant Wise
Grant is a legacy target and a frequencent visitor to Greentree. His versatility projects as both an OG and OC in the future.
OC Ryan Miret
Ryan moved from defensive to offense for his senior season. Miami is high on high as a possible future offensive center.
CB J'Vari Flowers
J’Vari is a talented local prospect that screams cornerback when he steps on the field. He also has hints of orange and green blood in his veins.
CB Camdin Portis
Camdin ia another legacy target. His commitment has been very strong to Miami.
NOTE: You may have noticed the absence of LB commit Jordan Campbell from our list. Jordan continues to say all the right things about Miami but continues to take unofficial visits to other schools. Lets hope he is just doing his due diligence. Miami considers Jordan a foundational piece in the class.
BOTTOM LINE:
Miami has a very solid core of prospects for the 2026 recruiting class. We should see movement over the spring and early summer.
GO CANES!
