Canes bombed by Blue Devils, 13-3

In possibly their worst pitching performance of the year, Miami got shelled by Duke, 13-3, on Friday night.

Miami (18-17, 4-9 ACC) pitchers walked nine batters, hit six others and gave up two home runs in an embarrassing performance.

Duke (24-12, 9-7 ACC) jumped to an early lead with four runs in the first inning. Miami closed the gap to 5-3 going into the sixth inning. Then the wheels fell off for the Canes as the Blue Devils broke the game open with six runs.

The three-game series continues Saturday. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ACCNX.
