Miami easily rolled past the Florida A&M, 56-9, on Saturday evening before 57,886 fans at Hard Rock Stadium .

The Rattlers are respectable but just didn’t have the level of talent and depth to compete with the Canes.

Miami out gained the Rattlers 548 total yards to 194 yards. Miami quarterback Cam Ward once again led Miami offense, passing for 304 yards, going 20-26, with 3 touchdowns in the air and another on the ground. For the second straight game senior wide receiver Xavier Restrepo eclipsed the 100-yard mark, catching 4 passes for 104 yards and one touchdown.

Miami’s defense held the FAMU offense to 190 total yards while totaling 10 tackles for loss, five sacks and three interceptions on the Rattlers. The Canes’ defense was led by edge rusher Tyler Baron with 5 tackles (3.5 TFL) and three sacks.

Miami played 50 players in the game, providing valuable game experience and improving the team’s depth.

The Canes will host Ball State next Saturday, September 14 at Hard Rock Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m.. TV coverage will be carried on the ACC Network and WQAM-560.

Congratulations to our Canes!
