For the first time in 14 years, Jim Larranaga will not be on the sidelines on Miami bench. Longtime assistant coach Bill Courtney is the new Canes interim head coach for the rest of the season.
Coach Courtney must now prepare his Miami team for the tough ACC schedule. He will lean on his 28-year relationship and experience with Coach L.
"Basically all the good things I know about basketball, I know from Coach L," Courtney told the Miami Herald earlier this week.
"I can certainly say I worked for a lot of great coaches, but he was the guy that I was with the longest. He's the guy that taught me things on and off the floor -- how to treat the players and how to run a basketball program.”
Miami travels to Boston College on Wednesday to take on the Eagles. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m. EST. Coverage will be provided on ACCN and WQAM-560.
