Coming to town this week…

The 2024 football season is in the books. Miami now shifts focus to rounding out their Transfer Portal talent acquisition efforts before spring practice begins.

As the NCAA dead period is lifted on January 2nd, Miami will host a number of portal targets to fill remaining 2025 roster needs. Below are the announced visits to Coral Gables this week.

OC James Brockermeyer (TCU)

At 6’3”/295, James plans to visit Miami on January 2nd. Originally signed with Alabama, James transferred back home to TCU in 2024. He started all 12 games for the Horned Frogs, earning a very good 80.2 pass-blocking grade from PFF while allowing just one sack and eight quarterback pressures in 814 offensive snaps.

TE Alex Bauman (Tulane)

At 6’-5”/240, Alex is a proven red-zone threat, catching 12 touchdown passes over the last two years. He averaged 5.4 yards after contact in 2024. He plans to visit campus on January 2nd.

LB Martavius French (UTSA)

At 6’-2”/225, Martavius will visit Miami this Friday, January 3rd. In 2024, he registered a career-high 80 tackles with 17 coming for a loss. Martavius earned second-team All-AAC selection this season.
