Miami must replace a ton of production in the wide receiver room in 2025, losing their top three wide receivers from the #1 offense in the nation. It will be no small task.
In 2024, Miami featured four talented wide receivers in Xavier Restrepo, Jacolby George, Sam Brown and Isaiah Horton.
During the off-season, Miami landed former LSU transfer CJ Daniels. He joins a group of talented young receivers with limited proven game production.
This article will focus on the Canes’ wide receiver room, coached by Kevin Beard.
DEPTH CHART:
CJ Daniels: Daniels transfer to Miami this winter but has been limited in spring practice due to injury. He is expected to compete for a starting role in 2025. He provides excellent game experience and proven production. Will he be enough for Miami to maintain a dangerous receiving corps?
Joshisa Trader: JoJo is entering his sophomore season. As a high school prospect, he was considered a high 4-star recruit. During 2024, he saw limited action but flash the ability to be a future star. He had an excellent spring practice and is expected to compete for a starting role in 2025. Is he ready to break out in 2025?
Ray Ray Joseph: Ray Ray is a rising junior. Coming out of high school, he was considered a 4-star slot receiver. During 2024, he saw limited action but has the tools to be an productive receiver at the power Four level. Like Trader, is he ready to break out in 2025?
Ny Carr: Ny is a rising sophomore with high upside. In high school, he was considered a high 4-star prospect. He brings the speed and agility to attack all three levels of the field. Ny has the. potential to be a dynamic play-maker at the Power Five level. Again, is he ready to break out in 2025?
Chance Robinson: Chance is a rising sophomore. Coming out of high school, he was considered a high 4-star prospect. Chance is a big body receiver with game changing ability. He brings length and strong hands. Again, is he ready to break out in 2025?
Freshmen:
Joshua Moore, Malachi Toney and Daylyn Upshaw enrolled in January and successfully participated in spring practice. All are very talented but inexperienced at the college level. The future looks bright for these young men.
BOTTOM LINE:
Coming out of spring practice, it appears Miami has young talented receivers but lacks enough proven experience at wide receiver. Look for the Canes to return to the Transfer Portal this spring for experienced production .
