Miami (0-0, 3-0) destroyed Ball State, 62-0, on Saturday evening to remain undefeated.
It’s difficult to pick out the stars of the game after such a dominating win. However, it’s our tradition to award game balls after every Miami victory.
Here goes!
Miami’s coaching staff: There is no way a team becomes so dominating unless there is an excellent coaching staff behind them. Mario Cristobal and his entire staff have rebuilt, coached and developed this team back to relevancy. The Canes are now back to competing for championships.
QB Cam Ward: Ward is the obvious leader of Miami’s resurgence this season. On Saturday, he had his way with Ball State’s defense, throwing for 346 yards, 5 touchdowns and no interceptions. Cam is now a serious contender for the Heisman Award. Still a long way to go, but he’s in the discussion.
Offensive Line: Despite injuries to three starters, Miami’s offensive line fueled Cam Ward and the Canes’ skill players. They dominated the Cardinals defensive line, amassing 750 yards of offense without yielding a single sack.
Miami’s Defense: What can you say about Miami’s total dominance on defense? They yielded only 115 total yards of offense to Ball State, including a meager 6 yards (0.3 YPC) on the ground. They turned in 4 sacks and one interception for the day. Can’t top that!
Congratulations to the entire team! A job well done!
GO CANES!
