GAME BALLS: vs Florida A&M

The Miami Hurricanes once again dominated on the field on Saturday, rolling to a 56-9 victory over Florida A&M, 56-9 at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Canes’ offense amassed 549 yards of offense while the defense held the Rattlers to 190 total yards and no touchdowns. Miami used fifty (50) players, giving their young players valuable game experience and development.

As is our tradition, we award “Game Balls” for performance excellence after a victory.

QB Cam Ward:

What more can be said about the Canes’ “alpha dog.” Cam was 20-26 (76.9%) for 304 yards and 3 TDs adding a diving touchdown on the ground. Can we say “Heisman candidate?”

Edge Tyler Baron:

With Rueben Bain out, Tyler stepped up with an outstanding performance. He wreaked havoc in the FAMU backfield with 5 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.

WR Xavier Restrepo:

“Mr. Reliable” did it again, telling more than 100 yards receiving and one touchdown. X average 26.0 yards per catch, including a 50 yard touchdown reception. Can we spell “Biletnikoff?”

LB Wesley Bissainthe:

Wesley had to fight for his starting position in camp and stepped up to become a “breakout” player on defense. On Saturday, he tootle two tackles and an interception.

RB Damien Martinez:

Damien lived up to his reputation on Saturday with his physical running. He was the work horse of Miami’s rushing attack in the second half, wearing down the Rattler’s defense. He finished with 91 yards rushing (8.3 yds per carry) including a 33-yard touchdown.

Congratulations to our Canes for outstanding performances.

GO CANES!
