INJURY REPORT: Monday, Sept. 30

Miami survived a thrilling and controversial ending to beat Virginia Tech, 38-34, this past Friday night. Coming out of the game, the Canes were a little banged up, but avoid major new injuries.

The Canes received some good news on Sunday. Miami head coach Mario Cristobal, appearing on The Joe Rose Show on 560 WQAM on Monday morning, announced defensive end Rueben Bain is “ go” for the Cal game after missing four games and most of the opening game against Florida.

Cristobal also announced starting left tackle Jalen Rivers is a "game time decision” this Saturday. Rivers has also missed the last four games of the season. If Rivers is unable to play, UCO addition Markel Bell will again start. Bell has gained invaluable experience and has performed well during Rivers absence, allowing only eight quarterback pressures and two sacks during his four starts.

LG Ryan Rodriguez is still out this week, but LG Matthew McCoy will again start and get valuable playing experience against the the Golden Bears. Cornerback Damari Brown is also not expected back for the Cal game.

We wish all our Canes a speedy and complete recovery.

GO CANES!
