Miami (2-0) is off to a great start this season. After dominating wins over Florida and Florida A&M, the Canes are ranked #10 for the first time since 2020.
This week, Miami will host Ball State on Saturday at the ROCK. Let’s fill the stands and celebrate our Canes!
The Ball State Cardinals (1-0) are off to a good start, beating Missouri State, 42-34, in their opener last week.
After reviewing film, we believe there are two KEYS to a Miami victory on Saturday.
Miami’s defensive line must dominate.
The Canes must win that trench war. Ball State has a veteran and experienced offensive line and will try to maintain ball control on the ground. The Cardinals rushed for 173 yards in last week’s opening victory.
Miami must test Ball State’s secondary.
Ball State gave up 258 yards in the air to FCS Missouri State in their opener. The Canes have their air raid offense humming with QB Cam Ward completing 75.4% of his passes for 689 yards (6th nationally) and 6 touchdowns. Ward has a veteran and experienced receiving corp to throw to this season.
If Miami can exert their will on the defensive line and put constant pressure on the Ball State secondary, Miami should come away with a victory.
GO CANES!
