Miami head coach Jim Larranaga has rebuilt his team in the off-season with 10 new faces through high school recruiting and the transfer portal.
However, the Canes have a lot to prove after an injury-marred season that saw them finish 15-17.
An ACC media pool of 54 select reporters has the Canes as the 6th best team in the conference, behind Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Clemson and Virginia. Yes, we all are aware of the “Tobacco Road” basis, but Miami must prove they deserve more respect.
The media poll also picked their pre-season All-ACC first and second teams. Miami PG Nijel Pack was selected as on the first team.
Miami begins its season on November 4 against Fairleigh-Dickinson. The Canes' first conference game is against Clemson on Dec. 7.
