The Canes beat Panthers on Sunday, 14-4 in seven innings in Pittsburgh to win the three-game weekend series.

Miami (17-16, 4-8 ACC) split Friday's doubleheader to set up the rubber game on Sunday. It was the first conference series win for the Canes this season.

The Canes pounded out 15 hits and 13 runs in seven innings, led by Daniel Cuvet, Dorian Gonzalez Jr. and Bobby Marsh. Cuvet drove in four runs, while Marsh and Gonzalez each homered and drove in three runs.

On the mound, Miami freshman Tate DeRias (1-0) pitched five innings, giving up only one run while striking out five to get the win in his first start for Miami. The bullpen went the final two innings with Alex Giroux and Carson Fischer shutting down Pitt (17-14, 4-8 ACC).

Miami returns home to host Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday, April 9, at Mark Light Field. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. ET, with coverage on ACCNX.
