Miami upset Syracuse, 91-84 on Tuesday night at the Watsco Center behind forward Matthew Cleveland’s career high 32 points.


Cleveland was red hot, hitting 10 of 13 shots from the floor and 10 of 12 from the free-throw line. It was his third 30-point game in his last seven games. Cleveland also pulled down three rebounds, with five assists, two blocks and three steals. What a game!


True freshman Jalil Bethea also posted a career-high with 21 points. Bethea went 6 of 8 from the floor and 6 of 7 from the foul line, with five rebounds, four assists and one block. Paul Djobet contributed 13 points in the win.


Miami (6-18, 2-11 ACC) shot 55.4 percent (31 of 56) from the floor, 10 of 20 from 3-point range.


Syracuse (11-14, 5-9) shot 45.5 percent (30 of 66) from the floor, 8 of 21 from 3. JJ Starling led the Orange with 25 points.


The Canes have won two of the last three games.


Miami hits the road to take on Pittsburgh on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 12:00 p.m. EST, with coverage on ESPN2 and WQAM-560.
