QB Carson Beck enters portal

Former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has decided to enter the college transfer portal on Thursday with a "do not contact" tag instead of leaving for early for the NFL Draft.

Beck’s announcement immediately sparked speculation that he is headed to Miami for his final college season. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

At 6’4”/226, Beck has thrown for 7,426 yards with 68.4% completion rate, 52 touchdowns, 18 interceptions and five rushing touchdowns. He’s now rated the #1 QB in the transfer portal this cycle.

Beck has a very high football IQ and has an NFL arm to make throws to all levels of the field. He completes a very high percentage of throws 20-plus yards downfield. His short-to-intermediate throws are elite.

Should Beck land in Miami, it would mark the second year in a row that Miami head coach Mario Cristobal has a elite and experienced field leader to guide one of college football’s most explosive offenses.

A decision is expected within a week.
