Miami reserve quarterback Reese Poffenbarger is expected to enter the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.
Reese transferred to Miami this spring from Albany. The Maryland native originally signed with Old Dominion before transferring to Albany.
Over his college career, Reese has thrown for 5,969 yards and 56 touchdowns to 16 interceptions, with 59 percent completion rate.
This past season Reese played in four games for Miami, completing 6-of-7 passes for 20 yards, rushing for 12 yards.
Should Reese enter the portal, Miami will have only three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster this spring, including Emory Williams, Judd Anderson and incoming true freshman Luke Nichel. This would lend credence to reports that Miami will again head to the transfer portal for an experienced and proven college quarterback.
In any case, we wish all the best to Reese as he continues his football journey.
