Syracuse comeback defeats Miami, 42-38

The Syracuse Orange roared back from a 21-point deficit to defeat #6 Miami, 42-38, Saturday afternoon at JMA Wireless Dome.

The loss eliminates Miami from the ACC Championship Game and likely the College Football Playoffs.

Miami jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first half only to witness a Syracuse comeback to take the lead with a 21-point third quarter of their own.

The game turned into a shootout between Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCloud and Miami quarterback Cam Ward. McCord picked apart Miami's defensive secondary, going 26-36 for 380 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. Ward went 25-36 for 349 yards and 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Cane’s offense put up 503 total offensive yards to 479 yards of total offense for the Orange. However, Syracuse went 7-10 on critical third conversions.

Ironically, the winning score turn out to be a 56-yard scoop and score off a Miami fumble.

Miami finishes their season at 10-2, 6-2 ACC.
