Miami is undefeated (8-0, 4-0 ACC) with four conference games remaining.
The final four games of the season will determine the regular season ACC Champion. There are four teams in the race for that championship, Miami, Clemson, Pittsburgh and SMU.
This article will take a look at each of these teams’ remaining schedule and possible scenarios.
Clemson: ( 6-1, 5-0 ACC)
11/2/24 Louisville
11/9/24 @ Virginia Tech
11/16/24 @ Pittsburgh
11/23/24 The Citadel
11/30/24 South Carolina
If the Tigers win out in conference play, they will be the regular season champions and go to Charlotte in December. However, this stretch will be the toughest part of Clemson’s schedule. All their remaining ACC games will be true tests and clearly define the Tigers’ playoff status.
Miami: (8-0, 4-0 ACC)
11/2/24 Duke
11/9/24 @Georgia Tech
11/23/24 Wake Forest
11/30/24 @ Syracuse
If the Canes win out in conference play, they will be the regular season champions and go to Charlotte in December. This schedule is manageable but it has some tricky games to navigate. Let’s call it the “trap” schedule.
SMU: (7-1, 4-0 ACC)
11/2/24 Pittsburgh
11/16/24 Boston College
11/23/24 @ Virginia
11/30/24 California
If the Mustangs win out in conference play, they will be the regular season champions and go to Charlotte in December. However, SMU will face very tough Pitt and underrated Cal (a trap game).
Pittsburgh: (7-0, 3-0 ACC)
11/2/24 @ SMU
11/9/24 Virginia
11/16/24 Clemson
11/23/24 @ Louisville
11/30/24 Boston College
If the Panthers win out in conference play, they will be the regular season champions and go to Charlotte in December. However, Pitt will be tested by Clemson, SMU and Louisville.
BOTTOM LINE:
Head-to-head competition will determine the ACC regular season champion. Isn’t that how it should be? Miami is in a very good position here.
GO CANES!
