G Rakease Passmore
Transfer Target
Former Kansas freshman guard Rakease Passmore will visit Miami on April 15th. Coming out of high school, Passmore chose the Jayhawks over such schools as LSU, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, and Wake Forest, among other top power five schools. As a freshman this past season, he averaged 0.7 points, 0.6 rebounds, and 0.3 assists in 23 appearances.

SG Tru Washington

Miami’s roster rebuild continued on Wednesday when former New Mexico shooting guard Tru Washington announced his commitment to the Canes. At 6’-4”/190, Tru came out of high school rated a 90, ranked the #21 shooting guard and the #130 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. As a transfer, Tru is rated a 92. This past season, he averaged 11.1 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game while shooting 42.5 percent from the floor.

Former Miami shooting guard Jalil Bethea announced his transfer to the Alabama on Sunday. Jalil chose the Crimson Tide over Miami, Kansas State, and NC State.

C Ernest Udeh, Jr
COMMITTED
At 6’-11”/260, the former TCU Horned Frog was a McDonalds All-American coming out of high school. He ranked as the seventh best center and the 32nd best overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class.
The Orlando native has started 59 games over the last two seasons at TCU. He averaged 6.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 blocked shots and 1.4 steals per game in 2024-25. As a result, he earned All-Big-12 Honorable Mention. Ernest is a major defensive presence in the paint.

PG Trey Donaldson
COMMITTED
At 6'3"/195, the former Michigan point guard committed to Miami on Thursday. Trey was considered a four-star point guard coming out of high school and ranked the #21 point guard in the 2022 recruiting class.
Trey averaged 11.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steal in 37 starts for the Wolverines this past season. He shot 43.3 percent from the floor, 37.5 percent from 3 point range and 69.0 percent from the free-throw line. Trey has one year of eligibility remaining.

PF Malik Reneau
COMMITTED
At 6’8”/210, the former Indiana power forward committed Miami on Wednesday. He is rated 95 and ranked as the #2 power forward and the #8 overall transfer prospect.
This past season, Malik played in 26 games for the Hoosiers, starting in 19 of them. He averaged 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game, playing 35.4 minutes and grabbing 4.2 rebounds and shooting 37.7% overall, 26.8% from three, and 88.3% from the free-throw line. He has one year of eligibility left.
The Florida native is solidly built, with excellent hands and basketball IQ. He is all business and fundamentals on the hardwood. A team-oriented player who compliments with his activity on the glass, inside scoring, and passing.

CG Dante Allen:

Former Villanova commit Dante Allen (Montverde, FL - Montverde Academy), a native Floridian, backed off his commitment after the dismissal of head coach Kyle Neptune.
At 6’4”/220, Dante is rated as the sixth-best combo guard and #42 overall player in the 2025 class. He averaged 11.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 48 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range this season. t Dante will officially visit Miami on April 12.

BOTTOM LINE:
Just two years ago, Miami was in the Final Four. This season brought disaster to the program with the sudden retirement of legendary head coach Jim Larranaga, followed by the worse season in school history. Recently, Miami hired former Duke assistant coach Jai Lucas to replace coach Larranaga. Follow coach Lucas as he rebuilds the Canes’ program.
