College football has changed the game. The Transfer Portal giveth and taketh.
During this festive season, we sometimes have to say goodbye. But we get to also say hello.
This ongoing series will attempt to keep you up-to-date with the comings and goings in our Hurricanes family. Yes, it may be sad to say goodbye to or friends. But at the same time, we get to meet new friends and welcome new family members.
So, here we go. We’ll update any new developments as they happen.
Quarterback:
Our Canes’ family is saying goodbye to Cam Ward and Reese Poffenbarger. We wish them nothing but success as they begin new chapters in their life.
Returning are Emory Williams and Judd Anderson. Joining them will be true freshman Luke Nickel.
From all reports, the coaching staff is looking for an experienced and proven college quarterback to provide more competition and depth at the position.
Players of Interest: Darian Mensah (Tulane), Conner Weigman (Texas A&M), Jackson Arnold (Oklahoma) and Miller Moss (USC).
BOTTOM LINE:
Miami has very promising young quarterbacks but needs a veteran presence in the room.
In the coming weeks and months, other college quarterbacks may emerge. The CaneReports will update this list of transfer targets.
