With the recent news of tight end Riley Williams’ portal departure, Miami must pivot to replace three of their 2024 productive and experienced tight ends.
The good news is Miami has some very talented tight ends on their roster already. But do they have enough depth and experience to replace the production of 2024?
From all reports, Miami has serious interest in two portal tight ends.

BREAKDOWN:
Alex Bauman (Tulane)
At 6’-5”/245, Alex is a veteran college tight end with 38 games of experience and production over three years, with 606 career snaps, 63 catches for 610 yards and 13 touchdowns. Alex is a red zone threat with 12 over the last two seasons. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
In 2024, Alex hauled in 7 touchdown passes. He scored in six different games as a junior. He pulled in three of his six contested catch opportunities. He converted a career-best 13 first downs, while averaging 5.4 yards after contact.

Caleb Odom (Alabama)
At 6’-5”/227, Caleb played as a wide receiver for the Tide as a true freshman in 2024. He has a portal rating of 91. However, Miami is recruiting Caleb as a tight end this portal cycle.
Caleb is very athletic with natural ball skills and playing speed. In limited action as a true freshman 2024, Caleb caught 7 passes for 65 yards, averaging 9.3 yards per catch.
He visited Miami this month.
BOTTOM LINE:
Miami must re-load at tight end with an experienced veteran to pair with Lofton. Look for Miami to take a tight end from the portal this winter.
