Miami landed the commitment of transfer tight end Alex Bauman (Tulane) on Saturday.
At 6’-5”/245, Alex is rated 87, ranked the #8 tight end and #284 overall in the portal. He is seventh transfer to Miami in the winter transfer period, joining WR CJ Daniels, CB Emmanuel Karnley, OC James Brockermeyer, DT David Blay, CB Charles Brantley and S Zechariah Poyser.
Alex emerged as true red zone threat at Tulane. Over three seasons, Alex played in 38 games, catching 63 passes for 610 yards and thirteen touchdowns (7 in 2024). Alex is not known for his run blocking, earning a 60.2 pass-blocking grade and a 43.7 run-blocking grade, per PFF. Alex played 444 of his 606 snaps as an in-line tight end.
Bauman visited Miami this week and quickly secured his roster spot. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
