Miami received good news on Thursday morning when they landed the verbal commitment from four-star center Ben Ahmed (Putnam, CT. - Science Academy).
At 6’-9”/300, Ben is rated 96, ranked the #9 center and the #78 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Ben is the second verbal commitment in Miami’s 2025 recruiting class, joining four-star shooting guard Matthew Able (Ft. Lauderdale, Fl - Sagemont Prep). Originally from Nigeria, Ben arrived in the United States in 2022.
Ben chose the Canes over Cincinnati and Xavier. He took his official visit to Coral Gables last weekend.
Ben is a massive physical presence under the boards with his 7’-3” wingspan. He has a broad frame with huge shoulders. He's an blue chip rebounder and scoring threat with his back to the basket. Ben is a “lunch pale” worker in the paint.
Miami's class now ranks 18th in the nation with the addition of Ahmed and is #5 in the ACC.
Welcome to the U, Ben Ahmed!
GO CANES!
