Miami welcomed the third verbal commitment to the 2026 recruiting class on Sunday when CB prospect Camdin Portis (Charlotte, NC-Myers Park) gave his verbal commitment to the Miami Hurricanes.
Camdin is a Miami legacy, the son of legendary Miami Hurricanes running back Clinton Portis.
Camdin chose Miami over such schools as Ohio State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida, Penn State, UNC, and Missouri, among others.
At 6’-0”/165, Camdin is rated 90, ranked the #25 CB and the #291 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He projects as a nickel in Miami's future defense. In 2023, Camdin tallied 18 tackles, 10 PBU, 2 INTs and a forced fumble.
Camdin just attended Miami’s victory over arch-rival Florida State on Saturday night and quickly pulled the trigger on Miami’s offer. He joins quarterback Dereon Coleman (Orlando, FL.- Jones) and linebacker Jordan Campbell (Miami FL- Carol City). The Canes’ 2026 class is now ranked #13 in the country.
Welcome to the U, Camdin! Welcome to the family!
GO CANES!
